It was a cold winter evening. The sky outside had turned a soft shade of grey, and the wind whispered through the half-open window. Chandni sat on the floor of her quiet room, wrapped in her pink shawl. She held her old wallet in her hand, the same one she never changed. Slowly, she opened it and took out a photo. It was from her college farewell, a picture with Divyansh. They were smiling wide, carefree, and young. He had his arm around her shoulder like always, and she remembered how he teased her that day about crying at the farewell. She smiled now, just a little. Not broken, not sad, just full of memories. On her phone, a soft tune started playing on Spotify… “meri aashiqui ab tum hi ho…” the female version. The words filled the room gently, and for a moment, it felt like the past had quietly returned. She didn’t cry. She just held the photo close and  then softly looking at the photo she whispered,

"You know, I never really needed a forever with you...

This one photo, this one moment it's enough for a lifetime.

You didn’t stay, and maybe you were never meant to…

But you came, and in that time, you taught me how it feels to smile without reason.
